Feminist Therapy

Feminist therapy takes seriously that some of what you are carrying was put there by the world around you, not by something wrong with you.

Draft, awaiting clinical review

This page is a working draft. It has not yet been reviewed and approved by our clinical team, and it is not indexed by search engines until it is.

What this is about

It pays attention to power: who holds it in a family, a marriage, a workplace, a culture, and what it costs to live under it. Distress is read in context rather than treated as a private malfunction. It is also explicit about the power in the therapy room itself, and works to keep that relationship collaborative rather than expert-on-patient.

What work here looks like

It suits anyone whose difficulty is tangled up with gender expectations, caregiving load, safety, or the quiet arithmetic of what you are allowed to want. It is not only for women, and it sits closely with queer-affirmative practice.

Nothing on this page is a diagnosis. If you are in immediate danger or worried you might act on thoughts of harming yourself, please contact Tele-MANAS (14416 or 1-800-89-14416, available 24×7 across India) or your local emergency services.
