Integrative Therapy
Integrative practice means the approach is chosen to fit the person, rather than the person being fitted to one school.
This page is a working draft. It has not yet been reviewed and approved by our clinical team, and it is not indexed by search engines until it is.
What this is about
An integrative therapist is trained in more than one model and draws on them deliberately: structure and skills when that is what is needed, slower relational work when it is not, body-based work when talking is not reaching it. What makes it integrative rather than improvised is that the choices are considered, discussed with you, and open to revision.
What work here looks like
It suits most people, and it is how a good deal of experienced practice actually works. It is worth asking any therapist how they decide, and a considered answer matters more than the label.
