Diagnosis and medication, without the fog
Whether to seek a diagnosis, and whether to consider medication, are decisions people are often left to make alone and with bad information.
This page is a working draft. It has not yet been reviewed and approved by our clinical team, and it is not indexed by search engines until it is.
What this is about
A diagnosis can be a relief and a shorthand that gets you the right help faster. It can also feel like a label that arrives without a manual, or one that follows you further than you wanted. Neither reaction is wrong. What helps is having somewhere to think it through with someone who can explain what a diagnosis does and does not mean, and who is not selling you either certainty or scepticism.
What work here looks like
Therapists at Fenweh do not prescribe. Because therapy and psychiatry sit alongside each other here, we will say plainly when a psychiatric opinion could be useful, and the decision stays with you and the prescribing clinician. Nothing on this page is medical advice.
Nothing on this page is a diagnosis. If you are in immediate danger or worried you might act on thoughts of harming yourself, please contact Tele-MANAS (14416 or 1-800-89-14416, available 24×7 across India) or your local emergency services.
