Early career and work
The first years of working life shape a lot of what a person later believes about their own worth.
This page is a working draft. It has not yet been reviewed and approved by our clinical team, and it is not indexed by search engines until it is.
What this is about
Learning what is normal and what is not, negotiating for the first time, absorbing feedback that is sometimes about you and sometimes about the manager, and discovering that competence and recognition are only loosely related. For many people this is also the first time income becomes a family matter as well as a personal one.
What work here looks like
This sits close to Work and Burnout, which is about depletion, and to Career Transitions, which is about deciding. Any of the three is a reasonable door.
